Ear infection Empty Ear infection

Post  aivkovic Thu 20 Nov 2008 - 16:53

Hi,

My 1 year daughter got an ear infection. She was on antibiotics and took a paracetamol against the pain. It was really hard to look her how she is in pain and not be able to help her. During that time she was not really keen to eat or drink and she was not able to sleep a lot.

Does anyone have similar experience? I have heard that the ear infections can come back and I am already afraid of that…

Thanks for sharing your thoughts with me,
Aleksandra

Hi Aleksandra,
luckily we had no such bad experience yet, but my daughter (19 month) had an ear infection two times since now. I was at the doctor early enough, so she got antibiotics before it got too painful. I have one good advice: if your daughter has a cold, give her "real" nosedrops (not the ones with only salt in it) two times a day. That keeps the connection between nose and ear free and can prevent a new ear infection.
Hope that your daughter is better now,
Andrea

Very interesting article Gulnara, very precise, pros and cons about some solutions
My doctor had also given tip about a couple of olive oil drops in ear
if this link does not work just go to http://www.askdrsears.com and enter ear infection in search box
